Soup & Bread 2014 kicks off Wednesday, January 8, at 5:30 pm at the Hideout. As we did last year, we’re giving each night a theme — and our inaugural night is the more-appropriate-than-ever-imagined “Fire and Ice.” Rising to the soup challenge (and hopefully steering clear of the gazpacho) are:
Mana Food Bar chef Jill Barron; Monica Eng and Louisa Chew, hosts of the WBEZ food podcast Chewing the Fat hosts Monica Eng and Louisa Chu; Grind Cafe‘s Tara Swadley; Blue Sky Bakery; and S&B stalwarts Diane Galleher and Bonnie Tawse.
The beneficiary of this week’s pay-what-you-can donations is Community Dinners, a meal program based at Logan Square’s St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Bread has been generously donated by Publican Quality Meats and Crumb Chicago, and our DJ stylings come courtesy of a very pregnant Mary Nisi, from Toast and Jam.
That’s this Wednesday at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia, 5:30-8 pm. As ever, kids are welcome if at least vaguely supervised.Posted: Saturday Jan 4,2014 11:10 AM In Event Schedule
