Soup and Bread

Zup e Pane: Milano, photos

On September 4 Chicago chefs Jason Hammel, John Coletta, and Matthias Merges joined up with legendary Italian chef Gualtieri Marchesi to stage a Soup & Bread at Chef Marchesi’s culinary school in Milan as part of Chicago Sister Cities’ “Chicago Week” at Milan Expo 2015.  All told they raised $600 for the local organization Pane Quotidiano (Daily Bread) and it looks like it was a blast. While we’re sad we were not able to be there in person, big thanks to Hideout owners Tim and Katie Tuten for pulling the whole thing together and representing for the foxy Milanese what we do here in Chicago in perhaps more modest style. Photo evidence below.
