Brittany Boyd, of the New York City Coalition Against Hunger, just sent along a few more photos from our Bell House soupstravaganza. Here, I dish up some of Millicent’s black bean soup for NYCCAH executive director Joel Berg; the rest are up on my flickr page, here.
(And, speaking of New York, the Manhattan Borough President’s office just published an impressive-looking report called “FoodNYC: A Blueprint for a Sustainable Food System” (pdf). I worked with the Chicago Food Policy Advisory Council and the city’s department of zoning and land-use planning on a similar state-of-the-urban-food-system report last year, but to date I’ve seen it get very little play, and only the executive summary has been made publicly available. What gives, Chicago?)
