Hello! Just a quick note here to say that the April SOUP & BREAD TO GO is happening on Wednesday, April 27. This is a week later than normal, as the Hideout schedule got a little complicated. But otherwise all is the same.
Choose on site from either a lentil soup with cumin, garlic, lemon, and sunflower seeds, prepared by Urban Canopy’s Ethan Fischer from a recipe provided by chef Abra Berens, author of the cookbooks Grist and Ruffage, or an herby black-eyed pea soup with spring onions and greens prepared by Allison Scott at Floriole. Both soups are vegan and gluten free. Pick up is from 5-7 pm at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia in Chicago) on April 27, 2022. Bread is donated by Publican Quality Bread and Middlebrow. All proceeds from this month’s Soup & Bread go to Pilsen Food Pantry.
If you’re a subscriber, you are good to go. Otherwise, preorder your soup today here.
This is the final Soup & Bread To Go of the season. Weather permitting we’ll be outside again this month, and we hope to have some of Abra’s cookbooks for sale as well. Come out, have a beer, and welcome spring with us — or head on into the back room to play another round of Hideout Trivia.
See you on the 27th!
